Video plays when clicked - unwanted behavior
Mar 11, 2014
Hi there,
I usually add movies inside my lessons and annotate above them.
I've noticed what i believe is a bug and would like to check with anyone who knows.
I choose to play the movie Automatically (and not when clicked) - see below.
But - an unwanted behavior occurs - when the user clicks anywhere on the movie - it stops! the annotations and naration continue... when clicked again - it continues!
Anyone knows how can i prevent it?
I know I can add non clickable hotspots on each movie but that it very time consuming and may create other errors with other clickable items.
PLEASE ASSIST!!
Thanks.
Yoni

I find the smile thing is to drop a hotspot on top of the video, I think this is expected behaviour and agree it would be nice to have it as an option.
Thank Phil,
I added a hotspot on each video.
It is a "not to bad" workaround but would love if there was an option in the video object itself- as you say.
Thanks!
Hi Yoni and Phil,
I'm glad you were able to find a suitable workaround for your video. If you'd like to see a different behavior for the videos, I'd suggest sharing your thoughts here with our product development team in the form of a feature request.
I just came along this question and workaround. It's four years since it was discussed here. Did anything happen meanwhile? I would be glad to find a possibility among the video options to switch this behavior off.
Thanks!
Hello Joachim and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
The hotspot that Phil shared above is still the way to go here if you do not want your user to be able to click on the video and get anything else you've added to the timeline out of sync.
