Video quality after publishing for LMS delivery
Jun 03, 2015
I know this is an old issue but I am having trouble with my videos dramatically losing quality after publishing. After going through many discussions on here I tried the method of replacing the published video in the contents folder with the original video.
This works fine when viewing the story file on a browser but I then try to upload the folder to my LMS system like I normally would and it will no longer accept the file saying there is an error connecting to server.
File names and pathways are exactly the same so not sure why this is happening?Any ideas, am I missing something really obvious?Any help would be greatly appreciated as I need the videos to be good quality.(I'm still using Storyline 1 by the way)

Hi, Hayley -
Did you happen to come across this thread in your search, by chance? There is some good information, and although we generally don't recommend (and can't support) modifying published output, Mike Enders has put together a nifty work-around for this issue:
Yes this is the method I was referring to which I did but then the LMS system would no longer accept the zip file?
Hi, Hayley - Have you tested your published output file for functionality in the SCORM Cloud also, as it's the industry standard? Basically, if it functions properly in the SCORM Cloud, but not in your LMS, that would mean that you would need to contact your LMS directly for further investigation of the matter.
Unfortunately my file is slightly too big to upload in the free version and I can't pay for the other versions.
Thank you for the suggestion though
Hi, Hayley - Would there be any way you could trim your file down for size so that you can use the free version of the SCORM Cloud? Otherwise, I'd recommend reaching out to your LMS to see what they can share.
Just created a new project purely to test this and it seems to work on the scorm cloud just not on my LMS which is irritating.
But thank you at least I know where to go from here now
Glad we were able to get you moving in the right direction, Hayley! Thanks for the update. :)
