Video Quality Impaired after Trim Function

Jul 28, 2020

Hi,

I am wanting to edit multiple videos in Storyline 360. My main requirement is to trim the start and end off videos and add captions, but I'm finding as soon as I trim them, the quality is impaired. The video will then start off black and slowly recover with a pixelated sort of effect and finally back to normal after 3-10 seconds. I've tried publishing the file and inserting it into my Rise 360 course and it remains at this poor quality.

Any ideas on how to stop this from happening or fix it?

Thank you,

Erin

Hello Erin!

I'm happy to help! I don't see any reports that address an issue where video quality is compromised after editing.

Would you mind helping us investigate? Here are a few questions to get us started:

  • Do you see this with all videos or just specific ones?
  • Which version of Storyline are you using?
  • Have you tried publishing to Web or Review 360? Do you see the same issues with the image quality?

It would be helpful to see the snag in action. Would you mind either sharing your file or a screen recording? You can attach either one to this discussion or upload it to us privately.
