Video - replay on iPad

Feb 16, 2016

Hello,

I have created a 1-slide course with a video and subtitles as text boxes.

I have added 2 layers:

- one triggered with a transparent square positionned on the video which pauses the timeline on the base layer

- one with a black square containing a replay button triggered at the end of the slide timeline. The trigger added on the black square is "Restart course"

It is working well on dekstop. However on iPad (without the Articulate player), when I click on Replay, the video does not restart.

I have aslo tried with another trigger on the Replay button "go to slide 1.1" without any success.

Any idea to solve it?

Thanks

Greg

Hi, Gregory -- I appreciated your patience while I tested your file. If you click here, you will be taken to your published output as it was uploaded on Tempshare. I was able to click Replay without incident, and cycled through the videos a number of times and did not encounter any issues.

Please be sure to see this article on Publishing and Sharing your SL2 content for more information on testing your published output in the intended environment to verify functionality. As the article states, "If you view an Articulate Storyline course on your local hard drive (or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive), you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail."

If you have any other questions, please say the word!

Hi Christie, thanks for your prompt answer. Really appreciate it.

I've repeated the problem when I replace the normal video and the design of the client (background...) in the file I've sent you.

I confirm that the normal behaviour is the one you've done on Tempshare and that I've repeated. It is not coming from the way I publish as I've published the .story I've sent you and it works too!

This is very strange. Don't you think it might come from the video which is bigger than the one I've inserted in the file I've sent you?

However, I've found an alternative. I've changed the trigger on the 'REPLAY" button: JUMP TO SLIDE 1.1 and Play media...

Hi Christie,

The project is almost ready to be delivered. But I have another problem.

I have created the video with PowerPoint 2010 (export - mp4 video). The video is perfect when it plays by itslef in the media player. However, when I insert it in Storyline, I have some strange behaviour (probably coming from the format). I have Freemake video converter to convert it in any format. What do you recommend as I really need the video to be well displayed in the course.

Thanks

G
