It sounds like a video is replaying on a slide when you revisit the slide, even though you set the slide to "Resume Saved State".
This is actually a bug our team is investigating in Storyline 3, and I'm sorry to hear it's affecting your file! As soon as we get it resolved, I'll let you know.
I would also like to know when this bug is fixed. I am using Storyline 360 and have the same thing happening. I have mp4s embedded on multiple slides.
Even when I set the slide properties to resume saved state when revisiting, the mp4 starts over at the beginning. The other elements are saved at the end of timeline so the video is playing but everything else is at the end of the timeline. This creates some significant confusion and challenges.
I have attached an image of what the slide looks like at the end of the timeline when the video is complete. I'll attach an image of what it looks like on revisit in my next comment.
Thanks for sharing, Christa. We are investigating this issue in Storyline 360 as well, but I don't have a timeline for a fix just yet. I'll make sure we keep you posted!
Thanks, Crystal. For now, I've just chosen to have all of the slides with mp4s embedded reset to the initial state when revisited so everything starts over. It isn't ideal, but at least all elements are timed together.
If you're using Storyline 360: We just released Update 27. This release includes a fix for the issue where videos would start over when revisiting slides even if they were set to resume saved states. To see what this version has to offer, follow these steps to update your software.
If you're using Storyline 3: This issue isn't fixed in Storyline 3 just yet, but we promise to keep this discussion updated as soon as new information is available.
If there's anything else I can answer, I'll be here!
We just released the newest version of Storyline 3 (Build 3.7.20003.0) this morning. This fixed the issue where videos would start over when revisiting slides even if they were set to resume saved states.
The next step is to update Storyline 3 by downloading the latest update here.
As always, we are happy to answer any questions you have by posting in this discussion or you can contact our Support Engineers directly.
No, this problem was not fixed from the latest Storyline 360, which I just updated today. However it does not happen to all of the MP4 videos, only to some. Any work around?
I'm sorry you're running into this issue as well! Since we released a fix for this bug in Update 27, I'd like to get our support engineers to take a closer look at your file and videos to determine what may be causing this to happen.
I've started a case on your behalf and would appreciate you sharing your files with us using your personal upload link here. Once our support engineers are done testing, they'll reach out with next steps!
