Video volume not muted in HTML5

Jan 15, 2019

Hello,

Has anyone had issues with a video that the volume is selected as mute under options, not muting when viewing the HTML5 version? I am using Storyline 3.

I previously did not have this issue with a course. I updated it today and when publishing I now have this issue. The only thing I did differently was select the optimize audio volume selection when publishing. Not sure if that caused it or some other software update.

I found that when a video is placed on a slide starting at 0 seconds the video even though muted, will not be muted. If I move the file to 0.25 it will work correctly. The flash version operates correctly and mutes the video when placed at 0 seconds.

This is similar to another bug of where audio will not start occasionally when placed at 0 seconds on a slide in the HTML5 version.

Hi Adam,

I haven't run into any issues with muted videos in Storyline 3, so I'm curious to know more.

I created a sample file with a muted video, and I published it with the "optimize audio volume" setting enabled. You can test my sample file here.
