I have a single slide video in Storyline and I added a zoom region. I have no buttons or controls activated that will pause the video, but when my mouse clicks on the slide in preview, the video will pause. How can I stop this?
Also, is there a way to pause video and a zoom region? If my video pauses, the zoom region will not pause……which is throwing everything off.
To answer the first part of your question, to avoid the video pausing when you click on it, just add a large rectangular hot spot over the top of it. Don't assign any triggers to it. It will stop any interaction with the video whilst appearing invisible.
To pause the video and trigger the zoom region, you would probably need to set up a couple of timeline triggers. Also, make sure your video is set to play automatically.
From memory, your zoom regions sit at a certain point on the timeline. So to pause the video, you'll need a trigger that says: Pause media > Video > When Timeline Reaches > 15 secs (for example). Then the zoom region can do it's thing.
When it's done you'll need another trigger to Play media > Video > When Timeline Reaches > 20 secs.
You might need to fiddle with the timing a little so it appears seamless. The only thing I can see throwing things out would be loading time on the video. If that's the case, you can get around it by pausing the timeline when you get to the slide and starting it again when the user clicks play on the video.
Let me know if any of this doesn't make sense or if you need any clarification.
