Videos behaving oddly
Aug 02, 2014
Hi All,
I'm quite new to storyline, but getting on ok (I think). I've just published a test unit to tempshare and noticed that the videos (on Ipad) are showing a box around them which moves a little when interacting with the page. I could go through and cover the edges with a white box, but I am guessing there is a much smarter way of doing it.
Also the cropped videos are suddenly increasing to original size (within the border) when I click to close a layer. Anybody else experienced this? Neither of these things are happening when I publish to CD. If anyone out there can shed any light on this I would be grateful.
Thanks
Helena

Hi Helena and welcome to Heroes!
I'm unsure what you mean about the box around the videos, and how it's only appearing on the iPad when you interact with it. Could you share the .story file here with us or even a link to the version you placed on Tempshare so that we could take a look at this?
If you'd prefer to share the information privately, you can also connect with our Support team here or send the information to me via a private message.
Hi Ashley,
Thank you for the reply.
I will personal message some screen shots so that you can see exactly what I mean and then a link to the project. I could work around this but I would prefer to be able to crop the videos.
Many thanks
Helena
Sounds good Helena - and I'll keep my eyes peeled for the message.
Hi Ashley,
i cant seem to send you a screenshot on private message so it will have to be a link.
The cropped video thing was a red herring, the video enlarges if I close a layer but not a slide. This would mean that I could put all videos on a seperate slide. Unfortunately though, whilst videos on a layer are perfectly synced with audio, if I jump another slide, the video is behind the audio. I will send you the link and you can see what I mean.
Best wishes
Helena
Hi Helena,
If you could send me a link as a private message I'm happy to take a look at the behavior. You could also share the .story file with us here.
Hi Ashley,
I have managed to sort the videos on the seperate slides, so that they are in sync with the audio. I did one or two tweaks including placing the videos files before the audio in the triggers and modifying the audio files, so I am not quite sure what fixed it.
Thank you anyway.
Helena
Thanks for the update Helena
