Videos not playing on iPad

May 02, 2018

I have created modules for a client that have a significant number of videos.  The videos play normally on a computer or on an iPhone, but when the user attempts to view on an iPad, the user is forced to download Articulate Mobile Player.  Client does not want to require users to do that.

What is the difference between the iPad and the iPhone and is there a way to avoid the download?

The modules were created in Storyline 2.

Thanks.

Hi Katie,

If you've published to include the Articulate Mobile player, any learners on an iPad will always see the content launch there vs. the HTML5 output in Safari:

Most features behave the same way in Flash, HTML5, and the Articulate Mobile Player app, but some don't. See this article for a comparison on how mobile deployment may impact your course.

If your learners don't need to/or don't want to access the content in the Mobile player app you would need to republish with that option unchecked.
