View the file Path

Sep 29, 2014

I can't seem to find a way to view the path of an open Storyline file in order to confirm that I am looking at the correct version.  I would like to be able to do this from within the open file.  I realize that I can "browse" to that file and open it from a specific path, but that  is not what I am talking about.  I mean that, once the file is open, to be able to view the file properties, including the file's path. Is this hidden somewhere in one of the many ribbons? Thanks for your help.

Hi Matthew,

I don't think there's a way to see the path. What I usually do is select File >Save as (well, I select the Articulate icon on the very top left of the screen, and then Save As).

When the Save As dialog box opens, I can see the path in the drop-down field near the top of the dialog box. So, I'm not actually browsing to it...and it's just 2 quick clicks.

Thanks, all. These help. However, I agree with Rebecca; there really isn't a robust way to do it. (Seems like it would have been a simple and almost standard feature to have.) I have found that, after I open a file, it's not at the top of the file list; not until I close the file, I think. But the reason I would want to do this in the first place is that - for whatever reason - there is more than one file with the same name in the file list, so how do I know definitively which one I have open? I think the "Save As" workaround will do until Articulate sees this as a useful feature. Thanks for everyone's help.
