View versus Test/Try Mode

Hello,
I'm in the process of developing a eLearning lesson, and when I record, I can insert it with view mode, but if I do Try or Test mode, it only gives me a screenshot. I've read another post where it was basically the program they were trying to record, and I was able to insert a different recording of a different program, so I understand it is due to the program, but I was wondering if anyone knows of a workaround?
Thank you for any thoughts!

Hi Rose
this tutorial might help

Thank you Wendy. Those are the steps I'm taking, they just don't work for this one program that I'm trying to record.
So an update on this. I had a coworker try recording the same program (same version) and his works fine. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong, or what is different on my computer for this one program.
Hi Rose
you are working locally and not from a network drive or usb? That can sometimes cause unexpected behaviour in storyline.

Both the program I am recording and Articulate are running locally on my computer. Oddly enough I can record the same program through an RDP session and it works fine.
Hi Rose,
I'd go through the repair steps detailed here.
Would that work for the original Storyline? I don't have 2.
HI Rose,
Sorry, I wasn't sure which you were using but saw that Wendy had shared an SL2 link. Here in the info on SL1.
Thank you Ashley, and I will keep that in case, but the odd thing is, I came in today, and brought it up a bit ago and decided to try it again and it worked. I'm not sure if the shutting down and restarting did the trick or not. I will keep that that link in case it starts happening again. Thank you for all of the advice!
A reboot always seems to help. :-)
