Viewing audio cues across layers

Nov 19, 2015

I cannot figure out how to see the audio and use the cues when I add a second or third layer to a slide.  Most of my actions are triggered by audio cues instead of user clicks. Once in another layer, the audio is missing from the timeline!

I am using Storyline 1 and working under a tight deadline!  Ideas??

Hi Brian,

When you are working in a slide layer, you will not be able to access any audio from the base layer in the timeline. Each layer has its own timeline. You can view any objects from the layer timeline, but those will not be able to be modified from within the layer itself.

You can always submit a feature request for this option to be available.

When I am working in a secondary slide layer, yes, I can see the objects in the base layer. BUT I cannot see the audio object!  I don't want to modify it in the second layer, I just want to see the cues I've inserted so I can animate future objects in the layer.

Are you suggesting that I need to record a separate audio track for each layer?
