I have finished a project and now I want to view the final product. The file publishes (to LMS) just fine as I can see the files. However, when I try to view the story.html file I just keep getting the spinning wheel and it doesn't go anywhere, I am also getting the same when I've tried to preview a page or section.
I know I have plenty of memory in my system .................

Hi Geraldine is this happening once loaded in the LMS or are you trying view locally?
Its recommended to test in the environment you will deploy to for users - LMS or webserver.
if you need to test in an LMS upload to Scormcloud (industry standard LMS).
Hi Wendy. Thanks for responding to Geraldine's question.
I'm trying to share my file with others in my department without publishing to the LMS. When viewing the published file (published to a shared drive), I'm receiving the Can't Play Course message that links to the Local Playback of Published Content Doesn’t Work with Flash Player 23 and Later message.
Is there anything I can do, when publishing, that allows a someone to watch published content on a shared drive (i.e., gets viewer to avoid this message)?
I've had good luck publishing to shared drives by publishing to CD and sending them the location of the launch.exe file. Double clicking it will usually launch the file, if they can find it.
I say if they can find it, because sending them the location may be iffy if they have networked drives mapped to other drive letters than you do.
That message is going to come up if they've got the local playback of Flash content disabled. It's a behavior of modern web browsers and their security requirements. If you're publishing for Web and not uploading to a web server you may continue to run into the other security restrictions outlined here. If you're able to publish to CD that would be a way to share your content with users outside of a web server.
Thank you both. I avoid publishing as a .exe because security settings don't allow us to upload .exe files to SharePoint. But that doesn't apply to shared drives, so I can give that I try.
Hey PJL... just to give you the scoop on SharePoint -- You should be able to host Articulate content in SharePoint Server. However, it won't work with SharePoint Online (the Microsoft Office 365 Hosted Edition), since it doesn't support HTML files.
If you're using SharePoint Server, check with your SharePoint administrator for instructions on how to upload HTML content. Depending on your version of SharePoint, you may need to switch to "explorer view" before uploading content, or you may need to "check in" content after uploading it. Your administrator will know for sure.
If you need to track learners' progress and results, publish your Articulate content for LMS and use SharePoint's free Learning Kit: http://slk.codeplex.com/

Thanks Crystal, I appreciate it! Yes, I am able to publish with HTML settings. Just .exe files are a problem.
That's interesting about the Learning Kit. I'll have to give it try. Thanks for sharing!
