Viewing on iPad issues - does not work correctly

Aug 21, 2012

I am testing a course on the iPad and am running into the following issues.

- When I publish, I am choosing HTML5 only, as my users will be accessing the course via my LMS through Safari on the iPad, or from a PC. All of the settings work correctly on my PC using Internet Explorer 8.

- The entire course consists of videos, and are all on individual slides. The videos are set to play automatically. I also have every slide set to advance automatically.  The only triggers that are set are if the user clicks the next button, as well as on the last slide, I have a trigger for the course to EXIT when the timeline is complete.  I originally had a trigger for it to move to the next slide when the timeline ended, but it was cutting off the end of the video, so I removed it.

- When viewing on the iPad, once one slide finishes, it is moving to the next slide, but I am forced to press the play button within the slide to get the video to play even though I have the videos set to play automatically. Again, it works fine when viewing on the PC.

- I have an EXIT button in the top right corner that is not there when viewed on the iPad.

- Once the course is complete it is supposed to Exit automatically based on the trigger I set, but this isn't happening, plus when I click the NEXT button, it does not exit either.

-I had to click the back button in the browser in order to get out of the course, and even though I have the tracking set to number of slides watched, it does not show that I have completed the course.  It still says Not Attempted.

Here are some screen shots of my settings:

This one is how I have all of the slides set except for the last one.

This is how the last slide is set.

This is how the video is set.

Thank you!

Hi Katie.

My first question would be are you testing the content in your LMS? If you publish for LMS, you should be testing in the LMS or certain functions may not work.

You say you are using Internet Explorer but the HTML5 content is not supported in Internet Explorer

I would suggest submitting a case and sharing your STORY file with us here. I would also suggest allowing us the ability to view the content in your LMS so we can better troubleshoot. You could simply add support@articulate.com as a user in your LMS and provide your Customer Support Engineer with instructions on how to access the content.

Hi Justin,

Thanks for responding.  Yes, I am testing the content within the LMS.  I am using Safari on the iPad, but Internet Explorer on the PC, and it is working correctly on the PC.  I will submit a case on the link you provided, as well as give you access to my LMS Stage site where I am testing.

Thank you,

Katie
