Viewing results slide then interferes with answering questions

Mar 18, 2013

Hello,

I appreciate advice on this issue. My client would like the quiz results from all of the modules to add up to a total score. The client also wants learners to be able to check their status during the course. To figure this out, I created a test course with a single true/false question per quiz and then a results slide (called Check my progress) that calculates results of all of the results slides for the quizzes. On the Check my progress slide, I also list the modules and then pasted the equivalent "%Results.ScorePercent%% (%Results.ScorePoints% points)" from each quiz result page so that the learner can see on one slide an overview of how they scored on all quizzes. When I test, this works fine if I simply pass each quiz in turn and then access "Check my progress" from the menu.

However, if I access Check my progress before answering any particular quiz (I've tried a variety of orders), when I come to a quiz question (true/false) and select the right answer (true), nothing happens when I click submit. If I choose the wrong answer (false), I get the feedback and then the results slide for that particular quiz.

An interesting twist is that if I select true (the correct answer) and then click submit, even though it doesn't then display the feedback followed by the quiz results slide, the result is still tabulated on Check my progress slide.

I hope all of that is clear! I've attached the Storyline file for anyone interested to take a look. Note that only the first 6/11 modules have been set up. To see the issue, click on Check my progress, then access any particular module and answer the true/false question with "true".

Thanks in advance,

Steve

In case anyone else runs into this issue, I just wanted to indicate that the helpful Articulate staff helped me solve the issue:

I have found that the issue would be resolved ifyou set your all your questions' "when revisiting" slide property tobe "reset to initial state".

This solved the problem.

Best,

Steve
