Viewing videos on the slide timeline

Mar 21, 2019

I often add captions to screenshot videos to explain what's happening in the video.

In previous versions of Storyline, while editing the slide, I could click on the slide timeline and see a freezeframe of where video would be when played.

In 360, I don't see that view. The video is an image of the first frame no matter where I click on the timeline. Is there another way to see video progress while editing the slide?

Hi Christopher,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you are seeing when working on your project. I was able to recreate this behavior in a test file.

I've submitted this issue as a possible bug and attached this conversation to the report so that any updates can be shared here.

I do not know of a workaround at this time.

I wanted to share some information on how we define bugs and how we tackle them when they occur.

Hi Christopher,

I have some good news to share! The issue where pausing the Timeline would display the first frame of a video instead of pausing and showing the current frame is now fixed!

With the new release of Update 33 for Storyline 360, it resolves this issue and brings new features as well as additional bug fixes that you can see here.

The next step is to update Storyline 360 by heading to your Articulate 360 desktop app and clicking "Update" next to Storyline 360.
