Vimeo embedded video - Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Safari

Feb 03, 2016

Hi Support,

I recently started this discussion:

https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/embed-videos

In summary:

  • We have created our own videos (38 videos).
  • All our videos are uploaded to Vimeo.
  • Videos are embedded into slides using "Insert>Video from Website".
  • Embed code for example video:
  • <iframe src="https://player.vimeo.com/video/152554472?title=0&byline=0&portrait=0" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen="" mozallowfullscreen="" allowfullscreen=""></iframe>

I have published the Articulate project and viewed the 'story.html' file in various browsers.  Here are the results:

I have attached my articulate project (Vimeo Test.story) so that you can see what happens when you publish the content and view in different browsers (first slide, last stop on slider).

We need Chrome to play the video using 'story.html' (see 1.png) or for the menu text size to stay the same when 'story_html5.html' is used (also the searchbar goes missing see 2.png).

Any suggestions on how to correct this?

Thanks.

Matthew,

You'll have to upload your published content to an Internet-based server to preview the Flash content (story.html) as the Flash content will not run from a local drive.

Also, here are the system requirements for viewing published content (scroll down to "Viewing Content") https://en-au.articulate.com/support/storyline-2/system-requirements-for-articulate-storyline-2

I've also had problems with menu text displaying too small at various resolutions, so I resorted to building a custom menu.

Hi Mike,

Thank you for the response.

I can preview the flash content when I use Internet Explorer and view the story.html.  I haven't uploaded the published data to this discussion becuase of the file size.

Good to hear that others have experienced problems with the menu text size.  I don't want to make a custom menu as Articulate software should not do this!
