1. Articulate Storyline isn't supported in a server environment, such as Citrix or VMware ThinApp. It needs to be installed on the local drive, typically the C drive.
2. I'm not sure what you mean about the registration - when you activate Storyline, you'll be prompted to register your software with us. Also, all the files in terms of installing Storyline and then project files would be saved to the local drive of the user profile who is logged in.
3. The Articulate Storyline End User License Agreement (EULA) allows each serial number (license) to be activated by a single user. If more than one person logs onto the same computer, each will require their own unique serial number. Additional licenses can be purchased in the Articulate Store.
If more than one user attempts to activate the same serial number on the same PC, they'll encounter anInvalid Serial Number error message.

Few days ago I received information that our company is planning to transfer in VDI. I understood that there is no possibility to work in virtual environment. And we have to make decision how many computers we have to leave without vdi. All 10 computers or may be we can reduce quantity (we have 10 licences)?
Hello folks, I hope this note finds you well. I am exploring the VDI approach for ~15 licenses of Studio '13 that we have for our Mac users. For security reasons, we are unable to run standalone VMs. The feedback we received from one single user running Studio '13 on his VDI has been positive. However, the response I received from Articulate support is VDI is not supported. I would imagine we cannot be the only company looking to leverage VDI. Is there someone at Articulate that my team can chat with on the support side to walk through the dos and don'ts without violating the EULA?
Has there been any progress made on resolving this issue from the original post 7 years ago? Here is the scenario: Learners are logging into LMS via virtual desktop (VMware) and they can not get the storyline content to load - is this the same issue that the course designer is experiencing in the above comments? Are there any workarounds recommended? Thanks!
The posts in this discussion are about users of Storyline not being able to author courses. If your learners are unable to view published content in your LMS through a virtual desktop, it is likely a different issue.
For Mac users my organization and I found that we could install Articulate on a PC optimized for development then access the PC through a remote application like Parsec. This enabled Mac users to run articulate without boot camping their machine or trying a virtual environment.
In fact thinking about it, it could be really helpful potentially if Articulate had a set of computers accessible for rent for instructional designers to access and use remotely. Specifically it could support instructional designers who just turned in their company hardware and articulate licenses but now need to complete job interview tasks in Articulate. If they are using an older personal machine or a Mac as a personal computer then they would need to find a workaround or PC and get either a paid Articulate license or free trial to complete the hiring task.
If Articulate could offer a cost effective option to rent virtual Articulate computers to ID's it could be a good marketing tool.

Hi, I am a Mac user and need to be able to use Storyline which is only available for windows. Without using a Windows Parallel or VMware, has anyone tried the new Windows 365 Cloud PC? If you have used Storyline with it, how have you found it? (https://www.microsoft.com/en-ie/windows-365)
Finally, are there any other solutions people could offer outside of the bootcamp feature on Mac (I don't really want to have to be restarting my machine all the time). Thanks in advance for your help.

If you have 10 licenses, I may keep it on 10 computers - knowing that you could also install on a home computer as well for the same users.
I see this was answered two years ago .. has something changed in 2 years. Is install on Citrix / VMware now supported ?

My first suggestion is to test the content in SCORM Cloud to see if your learners can access it, to rule out LMS issues.

That's a really good idea Alex, it would make my life so much easier being a Mac user.
