visited slides doesn't look with visited/payed/grayed out.

Aug 25, 2014

Hi Sir,

I have to build a course as mentioned with below functionality. I am not able to develop same as below please help me to accomplish functionality.

1. I have 10 slides.

2. Default all slides will be blank only first slide will be in active status.

3. User played slide 1 to 7 then , 1 to 6 slide display with visited/played status & 7th slide will look with active status.

4. Now if user go back like on 4th slide then 5th, & 6th slides display with blank status instead of visited/played status.

While user click on any slide then I have used the trigger of Jump slide. When user go forward(5 to 7) then previous slides display with visited but while user go on previous slide(7 to 5) then previous slides displayed with blank status.

Progress button are slide number. http://screencast.com/t/WE6RAuNXZQv

Please tell the easy solution of above.

Hi Ashish,

It looks like from that image you've got a custom progress bar - what are the triggers to adjust the status of those icons? Are they based on particular triggers - such as to change it to visited when the status of X is also visited? Or when the user clicks on the next button? Are these icons set up on a slide master or the individual slides?

It may help if you're able to share the .story file here with the community so that we can take a look at what you've set up in terms of triggers, states, etc. You can use the paper clip icon to attach it, and the forums have an upload limit of 20 mb so you may want to strip out other unnecessary content such as images, videos, etc.

Hi Ashley,

Yes I have used a custom progress bar. I have developed as following below.

I have used slides as Progress button.

Progress button1= Slide1

Progress button2= Slide2

Progress button3= Slide3

Progress button4= Slide4

Progress button5= Slide5

User will go in sequence 1st then 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th.

I have used manually buttons for all 5 slides.

slide1(Progress button):- button1(Active with Grayedout), button2(blank), button3(blank), button4(blank), button5(blank) http://screencast.com/t/TGojL2RL

slide2(Progress button):- button1(Grayedout), button2(Active with Grayedout), button3(blank), button4(blank), button5(blank)

slide3(Progress button):- button1(Grayedout), button2(Grayedout), button3(Active with Grayedout), button4(blank), button5(blank) http://screencast.com/t/VE5YYTTAKjqn

slide4(Progress button):- button1(Grayedout), button2(Grayedout), button3(Grayedout), button4(Active with Grayedout), button5(blank)

slide5(Progress button):- button1(Grayedout), button2(Grayedout), button3(Grayedout), button4(Grayedout), button5(Active with Grayedout)

If we go 1 to 5th slide then all working fine but if user go on 5th to any slide like 5th to 1st then 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th slide progress button looks with blank instead of Grayed out. http://screencast.com/t/TGojL2RL

Please hint me how I complete slides with above functionality.

Hi Ashish,

Without seeing your file, and the elements you've set up in terms of triggers, slide properties, etc. it's hard to know which route to suggest you go for your course. If you're able to share the .story file here, hopefully someone in the community will be able to take a look at your design and offer some advice.

Hi Pedro,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing your file! Since this discussion is from six years ago, I'd like to start fresh with the issue you're running into.

I've opened a case on your behalf to connect you with a support engineer who can take a closer look at your file and help you sort through the triggers that enable a visited state. You should be receiving an email with some information. If you can reply with any details that will give our team a head start, we'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
