Visited State
Oct 19, 2016
Hello!
When using a button with a normal state, visited state and hover state there are some slides whereby this all works perfectly - however on some slides when the learner clicks on the button...before the page has even transitioned to move to the screen for that content....the button shows the check mark I have on my visited state immediately. So what is actually happening is the visited state is showing on click.
I have read some posts here on the forum about using a different state and not using the internal Storyline visited state. Is that the solution? I want just trying to clarify and consolidate as it seemed as there were some different solutions for variables, not using the build in visited state etc. Is there a general consensus as to what is a reliable method that is tried and true and will avoid my visited state showing on a button upon click but not truly show until the leader returns back to that menu page with the button.

By design, the built-in Visited state will be displayed on click. If you want to have a visual indication for the completion of a section, etc. you do need a custom state that is triggered by some condition, e.g. a variable 'Completion_Sectionxyz'=true.
Also, for reference here are the definitions of the built-in object states.
Ah yes OK very helpful Michael! I greatly appreciate your time and feedback on this!
