Visited State/Triggers and Check Marks

Jan 20, 2016

Greetings-

I am in need of assistance in a course that I created. I have check marks to appear when the learner completes a lesson/scene, but also allow the learner to return to a visited lesson. However, in my course when the learner completes lesson 1 and while in lesson 2, clicks on the Lesson 1 and the check mark disappears, but adds a red line as i want it to show the learner is in that lesson. I would like to show check mark and a red line when the learner revisits a completed lesson.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated. I have exhausted what I know. Adding states, conditions, triggers, but it does return a result I need. In addition, I have researched E-Learning Heroes, but when I think I find something that will help me out, it turns out it is not quite what I need.

Note: I have scaled a sample story that is attached that will not show an introduction scene nor a check mark in lesson 3. - that is ok. Any assistance I get for the above challenge, I can fix the other scenes.

Please let me know if you need clarification.

Regards,

Jeannie

I got a little lost in your .story so i just made one from scratch. the .Story is attached. Let me know if you need some help understanding how i accomplished it.

Some things of note,

you wont get the check mark from completing a lesson until you leave the final slide.

you can click the circles to jump to those lessons.

Jeannie,

The attached file is working for lesson 1, at least the red line and the check mark. I put the check mark as a state for the button. I created a new layout (custom Layout 1) for the check mark and the red line. I used your variables to change the state. I didn't delete any of your layers, because I know there is material on them you still want. I am pretty sure that if you duplicate my layer for the other scenes, that all the check marks and red lines will work.

I also took the liberty of changing the triggers that set the lessoncompleted variables to the end of the timeline. Just a personal thing, but I think the lesson is completed when the slide ends, not when it starts. Since I didn't want to wait, I also set a trigger on the next button. You may want to delete that one, as it allows the user to get credit for completion any time they click Next.

Any questions, just ask.
