Hello! I am working on a client project that includes embedded SWF videos on nearly every slide. I am finding that the Articulate Storyline 1 volume control is not working to adjust volume on the embedded videos.
Any idea why this may be happening, or ideas for troubleshooting?
You may find that the volume slider doesn't work on slides with video content when you view the HTML5 output in mobile Safari on an iPad/iPhone.
Apple has chosen to ignore volume settings for video content since iOS devices have built-in volume controls. (See Apple's developer documentation for details.) As a result, you'll need to use the volume controls on your iPad or iPhone to adjust the volume of video content in your course.
Thanks, Leslie! This is an issue that I'm having on a desktop (PC, Chrome browser). I have been poking around to see if there are any similar issues, but I am thinking there just might be something weird with the way this file is set up. As it is client material, I'm unable to share in a forum.
For general troubleshooting purposes, there are a few thing we can try first to rule out some common issues: Please make sure you are working locally as described here, and you may want to try importing the file into a new file. If you are still having issues, you might want to try to repairStoryline. If issues persist, you are welcome to upload a generic test file here, or if you would like to submit your actual file confidentially, please use this form and we'll check it out.
