Volume controller does not work on Mac Safari

May 03, 2017

Hi,

We have a course created in storyline 2, there are some animation which is created in storyline and there are some videos. When we test the course in Windows IE and Chrome, everything works perfectly. But when we run the course on Mac Safri the major issue is audio controller does not control the audio of video frames. The working of volume controller is when we increase/decrease the volume it will be same for all the frames of the course. But when we run the course on Mac Safari, we find that the volume controller does not work as expected and Video slides are playing audio and from audio controller, we cannot increase/decrease the volume of video slide.

Can anybody have any solution to resolve this issues.

Hi Sharad,

Sorry you're running into this! We have seen a similar issue on mobile Safari on an iPad/iPhone. Apple has chosen to ignore volume settings for video content since iOS devices have built-in volume controls.

Are you seeing this on Mac desktop, or a mobile device? If you could share a copy of your file with us by clicking here, that would be really helpful!

Hi Alyssa,

I shared the files. We are using Mac desktop. What I notice that the frames where we have added videos is actually have problem with audio controller. I am attaching the story file for your reference. Please provide me some solution for this because my client want us to resolve this issue ASAP.
