I have an Articulate Storyline course with animated video scenarios I created in Vyond/GoAnimate. When I test this through Articulate Review using Internet Explorer the videos look gritty. They look fine when I use Chrome but Internet Explorer is the default browser at my company.
Do you have any advice on how to make these videos look clearer?
Hello, has anyone had any luck with editing the custom characters in Vyond, or adding assets such as logos or different hats to existing characters where the 'grouping' works? I have just been quoted 100,000-250,000 to create a custom miner character! haha soooo beyond budget. What have others done to create custom characters or assets that work well? Thank you, Tania
You can create something IF you subscribe to the pricier Professional Level, :( which I had to do to get the font import feature (all those "pesky" clients and their corporate font requirements :) ).
Even then, I don't think you can add your own clothing or props when you build a character. I can't see a way to do that yet. You may be stuck with what they give you. And, depending on the style you choose (Contemporary, Business Friendly, of Whiteboard Animation), the options may differ. The closest I could get just now to a miner was using the Contemporary style and here's what I got. Looks more like a safety engineer. :)
And if you choose to animate a character, the props you add or import don't move. At least I couldn't figure it out.
I did do this for a supermarket client once, where I set the character to be in a skin coloured swimsuit and overlaid uniforms over the top, it gave limited animations but did work well.
The Vyond folks do seem to be adding a lot of stuff lately.
I wish we had something in SL360 like Vyond for building out characters with props and an appropriate background in scenes quickly. That'd be very powerful.
And Vyond's great and easy to use pan and zoom features. We need a true pan and zoom in SL360. KEN BURNS EFFECTS FOREVER!!!!!!!!!! (Phil will understand that and should love it. :) )
I have a course I released last week that has Ken burns effects on the intro slides using after effects to create them
Insert jealousy face . . . :( My brother keeps encouraging me to learn After Effects. Right now, I just don't want to learn one more "new thing." Old dog syndrome. ;)
I suppose I can do that with Vyond also for SL360. I'd just prefer something "native" here and possibly not video-based, if possible. :)
Thanks heaps for trying - I have the business friendly subscription only. Is that hat with the torch already available? or an asset you added, or an item you grouped?
All good haha I feel like I am missing out on something exciting? feel free to share the burn!
Vyond let me know this is coming this week (but couldn't tell me if it includes a headtorch or any miner specific props/outfits)…
Business Friendly - More industrial templates and backgrounds: 6 templates, 7 props, 4 backdrops
Business Friendly - Industrial outfits: 17 CC items
Good to know. I'll watch for it.
I also subscribe to VideoScribe and Powtoon but Vyond seems more aggressive than the other two in constantly adding new things. If I had to pick one of those, I'd probably go with Vyond.

Yeah I am still mind blown by the quote.
The hat was available but I added a circle prop for the torchlight.
Did a really quick look at things. Not seeing any miner's hats yet when creating a character or with the stock character designs. :( Bunch of hard hats but none with a torch yet.
I did customized characters fo ra project called "Protester right that Im working on now with DesignXHumanity. It gave me the ability to create cool diverse high schoolers and an adult male named "OG". You can adjust clothing while designing characters but Im not sure if their are enough outfits choices to meet your need.

Hi Elizabeth
have you tried adjusting the video option settings when you publish?
So this? - https://move.vyond.com/articulate-storyline-and-vyond/
Sounds like y'all are going to work on something to get vyond into storyline? is it anything more than exporting/importing mp4s?
Okay y'all apparently still have a couple of months to figure that out. :)

There is s custom character editor in Vyond, should be simple to create what you need.

$100-250K for a custom character? Whew . . .

Sorry for hijacking the thread a bit.

haha I didn't realise you could have the character shirtless - I am a bit disturbed ;)
The overlay doesn't work in changing the business friendly outfits (character build) it just replaces each outfit.
Was that possible in the professional only prescription?

I also like their more traditional timeline. :)

Yeah, that quote was a little . . .
Hi, Tania!
Looks like Vyond's update finally came out today.
Did a really quick look at things. Not seeing any miner's hats yet when creating a character or with the stock character designs. :( Bunch of hard hats but none with a torch yet.
There are other solutions like After Effects and using character rigging. But of course a little more complicated than vyond.
This is so helpful! thank you for sharing. I'm really enjoying Vyond!
