Web object not loading without internet connection on iPad

Jun 03, 2019

Hello,

I am working on a project that is placing some web objects in several slides and the content is inside the project itself. When I load the project in the iPad through the app AMP and click in the offline option it just loads perfectly if the iPad is connected to an internet connection. When I disconnect the iPad from internet to check how it works before I haven't an available connection, the slides with the web object just go blank.

I am sharing attached an example of what I am trying. There are 2 different slides:

- Test 1 points to the webapp and a project that are located online (audio and score are located in my personal dropbox) so it is mandatory to have internet access.

- Test 2 points to a local folder with all necessary files saved within the Project files. It just works in the computer when I switch off internet access and load the slide, but when I import it in AMP on the iPad, the screen remains white and nothing is loaded. If I try to load the slide 2 in the iPad WITH internet connection it loads fine. It is odd as it points to local files within the project.

I hope to find a way to make web objects load even though there is not internet connection as they are located inside the project itself.

- Link to the amplaunch.html and save it in the iPad.

Link to the project in tempshare.

Link to the abcweb webapp that I am using.

I would appreciate some help to make it load even with no internet connection.

Thank you.

Hello again,

Thank you for your response. The webapp I am trying to integrate within a presentation is a musical software called "abcweb". You may find more information about it in the link I will leave in the main post.

I just updated the main post so all the information is there. I added links and a zip file attached with an example of the project.

I find it a little odd that the web object doesn't load if everything is local, this may be that the AMP checks for a connection before loading the web objects, or is it possible that the web app is making a call to the internet which is causing it to fail?

The only other solution I think is to use something like phone gap to create an app, but may be out of scope of your project.

Just wanted to say it looks great.

Thank you Phil.

I don't think it is the web app making a call to the internet as it works in the computer with no internet at all. So it has to be related with the way AMP loads the web objects. I just tried the app "Documents by Readdle" which allows to download folders and load a web element with no connection and it worked fine.

I would rather use AMP instead of other software to interact with my project but it would be necessary that I achieve that point.
