Web object position

Dec 05, 2012

Hello

Here is my problem : I put a weboject in the middle of a SL slide,  i publish the projet on a website, i launch the story.html page...the web object is correctly positionned in the middle of the slide.

Now, i included the SL object in a custom web page with header, menu bar... , i launch this web page, now the  slide is correctly positionned in the page (offset from the header and menu bar is ok) but weboject is not correctly positionned. It stay at the same place as in the first test. it doesn't "follow" the slide ! (cf picture)

i know that web object is a html layer above Flash player, but how to synchronize its position with player position ?

Thank you !

Hi Jean-Luc,

Is this happening in a particular browser or all browsers? If it's happening in multiple browsers, it may be related to a known issue where web objects appear over player elements.

Here's some additional information on the issue:

You may find that some player elements get obscured by web objects on the slide. In other words, some player elements will actually appear behind web objects. This also affects videos inserted from websites (such as Screenr, Vimeo, Google Videos, etc) and imported Engage interactions, since these are also treated as web objects.

Hi Christine

Thank you for support.

It's happening with Chrome and IE9.

I think it's a problem of synchronization between the position of flash player embendded in the web page and the web object wich is display in an iFrame above the flash player.

When i use the story.html produced by SL, all works fine, good synchronization. But if i change html code to insert a new div tag for header the flash player move down on the page but not the web object

here is atttached a zip file with SL project and SL outpout. the test.html page is called from website root (localhost) and display by the web object . The story.html is ok the story_header.html page shows the problem

Thanks for advice

Good morning Jean-Luc,

Yes, I do see the problem and it's happening because the rest of the content "shifts" downward after the header is added in the other HTML file. Because the web object is in the iFrame (so, it floats above the other content), it doesn't move with the rest of the content.
