I have embedded videos using web objects but somehow none of the videos are working in Chrome or Firefox they seem to be working fine in IE. Anyone else having the same issue or know what could be causing this.
Could you share a bit more information about what you are working on here?
What type of video are you embedding? How are you publishing and sharing the content? Are you testing in the published environment? Are you getting an error when viewing in Chrome?
Were having the same issue. We've embed videos using embed code from Brightcove hosted videos for some time in Studio '09, SL1 and now SL2. But we just used an updated version of SL2 and our videos won't load when viewed in Chrome. We publish our SL2 files as LMS and host them on our local LMS system. I changed our regularly used index.html web object file code so all http:// references no longer have the "s" in them and it didn't help. In fact is got the same Warning as another user regarding the Web Object feature being disabled by Chrome when I tried to view the slide with the embedded video. If we leave the "s" in the http:// reference in our index.html web object file we don't see a thing on the layer with the web object when loaded in our LMS.
I've attached the index.html file were embedding in our SL2 file as a Web Object for you to review.
If I open the index.html file from my desktop in any one of the three browser, the video plays fine. If I preview the web object on the SL2 slide by double clicking on the web object, the video plays fine. But once I publish it for LMS and upload it to our LMS, the video won't play in Chrome. So, I'm left with thinking that it's some type of new Chrome issue and/or a new SL2 issue since I wasn't having issue before upgrading my SL2 software this week and I haven't had any need to upgrade Chrome for some time. Please advice or recommend a solution...
The warning you mentioned about the feature being disabled is typically what we see when testing content like that locally or in preview. You mentioned a local LMS system - and I"m not incredibly versed in that type of set up - but if it truly is local, you could be encountering security restrictions from the browser(s) as mentioned here.
The browser was working fine a week ago, and we just updated our SL2 program and now where having the issue and only with Chrome. We can view the index.html files locally fine on any browser, and even view them fine from the web object on the SL2 slide when double clicked on. It's only when we try to view the course file after it's been published as an LMS zip file.
The course launches fine from our LMS but the videos won't load in Chrome, All other browsers test are fine. Do you know if Chrome has changed anything. I know in 2012, the browser had an issue with Secure https:// sites.
Testing web or LMS published content locally might work, but it's not guaranteed and sporadic based on those browser restrictions and security...so I can't offer additional support based on testing it locally. If you're able upload the published content to the web or even a testing platform like SCORM Cloud and it still doesn't work - then we can certainly dig a bit deeper!
I just uploaded our zip file to SCORM Cloud and it says our manifest looks great. But when I launched the course from SCORM Cloud in Chrome, the video steel doesn't show.
Thanks for testing it there - if it's still not working at SCORM Cloud we're happy to take a look. Can you share a link to the web object and a copy of your .story file? If you'd like to share it privately you're also welcome to share here with our Support Engineers.
Ashley, I think we may have figured out that it might be the new template were using.
Articulate Support has tested our files in SCORM Cloud and found the same issue with Chrome and Firefox. We've uploaded a previously developed zipped course in an older template we've used, that also has embedded videos in it, that is working fine in all browsers. They are going to compare the files and hopefully be able to figure out the issue. If they do, I'll happily share the results with you.
Thanks again for all of your support, greatly appreciated.

Que,
This forum discussion may help - try editing the embed code to make all links begin with 'http'.
Keepin' the joy,

Hi Patti,
Thanks for your reply, I have checked the discussion, changed the embed code to http:// but still no joy of videos being displayed in Chrome.
Thanks

Hi Leslie,
I did try what was mentioned in the forum but still no joy of embedded videos working in Chrome, they seem to be working in IE.
Any suggestions?

Whoops - looks like we were posting at the same time!
I know Chrome also released an update that hit my system this week, but I haven't seen the release notes yet in terms of changes to browser security.
