Webobject
Aug 26, 2014
I have a webobject (youtube-video) that doesn't work when the course is published - the page is just blank. It is set to load automatically in the slide.
I can see in the tutorial that: "If your web content is located on the Internet or an intranet, learners will need permission to access it when they're viewing your published story. Otherwise, the web object won't work."
I don't know if this is the issue, but if it is, how do you solve it? It would be nice if the tutorial stated this ...

Are you testing the published content locally (on your hardrive)? If yes, then the video is likely blocked by your browser's security settings. Try uploading the content to some server (or an alternative like DropBox, GoogleDrive, TempShare) and test again.

As Michael mentioned, it may be that you're viewing the published content locally - and there is additional information here on what that may be causing errors on your end or not allowing your video to play. You'll want to load up to your web server or LMS (depending on publish method).
If you don't have access to a web server, here are a few free options to consider:
Hope that helps!
