Try a button using - say - Arial 15 and a Superscript symbol, say (R). Then preview it and call me a liar. Then publish and witness the opposite. Bug. Thanks.
Just to update, the only viable workaround in my case was to use a shape instead of a button. Arial superscript seems to work ok using shapes, i think.
old thread but I am facing the same problem. I have to assign text value with (R) mark (superscript) using a variable. is this possible or not... if yes how?
In general, a shape (or even better a text box) that looks like a button will have a lot less native baggage than a button and be a lot more flexible and reliable, especially if you are having trouble with the text on the button.

Yer superscript doesn't work. Only thing i can suggest is using Articulate font instead of Arial.
Or tell the company that hired me to stop trademarking their stuff. :)
