What Causes a Discussion to Be Reported?

Mar 25, 2019

I just posted a new discussion and shortly after doing so, it switched to a "Reported" status. When I posted it, I had to respond to a spam filter and when I saw is status change, I thought perhaps I had responded incorrectly causing the status change. I deleted my original post and recreated it but it also switched to a "Reported" status. What causes this? Does the status cause it to be reviewed by staff and if approved, the "Reported" status is removed?

Hi Andrew,

We use automatic spam filtering tools within the E-Learning Heroes community, and posts with attachments may be flagged to ensure the attachments are clean. But not to worry, we monitor flagged posts for false positives and releases them as soon as possible.

I see that your post is now live, I'm sorry for the trouble. Thanks for reaching out!

Hi Steve,

Thanks for asking about this! I understand you'd like to know what triggered our automatic spam filter to flag your post. I would be happy to work with you to figure out why that happened! Would you be able to share a link to the post that was reported so we can possibly share some insight on why it was reported?

Hi John

The post was freed up after a while, but here it is:
            https://community.articulate.com/discussions/rise-360/index-html-file-now-has-a-bunch-of-extra-scripts

No answers, which is a pity, so would you be able to answer the question it asks?
Basically, does the Rise export now create a different index.html from a few months ago?
If it does, is this better, or safer, in some way – and would I be well advised to re-export my old courses?

Hi Steve,

Thanks for sharing the post! There's nothing in the content of the post that stands out as to why this would be reported. This looks to be a false positive reported by our automatic spam filtering tools. Our team monitors those and releases them as soon as possible. Sorry for the trouble.

Regarding the question in that post, it looks like my teammate Crystal has responded.
