Hi Leslie McKerchie -
Thank you for responding to my inquiry.

When I compare the screenshot to my Storyline I don't see "Update 11:3.11.23355.0" Instead I see "v3.47.23871.0" So, I am little confused here.

The reason why I want to know I have the latest version, is I am trying to build a simulation using the TAB key to move through 8 fields on 1 slide. I've run into problems. I saw in the Community someone mentioning to make sure I have the latest version of Storyline as a way to solution a Storyline problem. So, that's what prompted my post. I need to use the TAB in the simulation. The reason is that's the preferred method the agents must take to get through the various data entry fields. It's the preferred method for this particular tool. So, I am trying to replicate their experience in Storyline. I ran into various problems using the TAB key. Eventually, I figured out a workaround, but, it's not ideal. Please see details below for the problems and workaround.

PROBLEMS:

* Problem 1: The cursors displays in the first field. However, it doesn't display for the remaining 7 fields.
* Problem 2: I saw in the Community, the recommendation to place the data entry field at the bottom. I moved the 8 fields to bottom. When I previewed the slide, the cursor displays in each field as I TAB through them. However, Storyline won't display the prompt message, e.g. "Enter first name", that I added to each data entry field.
* Problem 3: I placed a Trigger with each field to check the key entry. Upon pressing TAB, if the value is correct, Storyline should proceed to the next field. If it's incorrect, Storyline should display an error message. Instead, Storyline always jumps to the next field, regardless if the key entry is right or wrong.

WORKAROUND:
I ended up splitting the 8 data entry fields onto 8 separate slides. It's working, but, with some problems:

* Problem 1: The cursor does not display in the field for any of the 8 slides.
* Problem 2: The simulation is 7 slides longer than what I wanted. Ideally, I would rather have all 8 fields on the same slide.
* Partial Solution 1: I can click in the field "area" and the cursor will display.
* Solution 2: The error messages properly display for each slide.
* Solution 3: When I press the TAB key I do advance to the next slide, as long as the key entry is correct.

NEED HELP WITH:

* How do I decode my notation on the "About Storyline" screen to know I have the latest version?
* How do I make the cursor automatically display in the field as I use TAB to advance through the slides?

Thank you, in advance, for any assistance you can provide me.

Regards,

Hi Michael,

Thank you for the thorough explanation! Let's dive in to your specific questions:

How do I decode my notation on the "About Storyline" screen to know I have the latest version?

You originally reached out and shared that you had Storyline 3 and asked about that specific version: I have Storyline 3. And, the information looks different from your screenshot. How do I tell the version of Storyline 3 installed?

Based on your mention of v3.47.23871.0, it appears that you actually have Storyline 360 and all of the version history for that product can be found here

So, you are on the latest version of Storyline 360.

How do I make the cursor automatically display in the field as I use TAB to advance through the slides?

The data entry fields do allow you to tab through, have the cursor display, and enter information as expected. I recorded a quick demo here and attached the file below.

It sounds like you've added multiple graded fields on a single slide and this is not working as expected. By default, Storyline is designed for one question/slide, so I'm glad that is working as intended for you.

You are welcome to share your .story project file here so that someone in the community can pop in and help you with your design.
