We have closed captioning buttons throughout a current project and on one slide the clicking the cc button also triggers one of the slide layer's text.
I don't see any differences between other slides with layers and cc and don't have the issue anywhere else in the project.
I have attached a file with the slide in question.
What I'm observing is that somehow the "more" layers are hiding the base layer text, and only the text. I'm not sure how, because the graphics still show, and the textboxes on the layers don't have a fill.
Then the CC layer is making it visible again. Not text from another layer, but from the base. Not sure why or how.
Thanks for reviewing. Yes it is very strange. It's as if there is a trigger
somehow associated with the CC trigger that I am not seeing in the list of
triggers assigned to the CC trigger.
Hi Brian! Thanks for allowing me to take a look at your file.
What's happening here is each time you open a layer (including the closed caption layer), it's hiding all other slide layers. This video demo explains it best.
I've updated your file with the recommendations I made in the video. Have a look, and let me know if you have any questions about it!

Brian, I'm not able to replicate the issue with the .story file you attached, it all works as expected for me.
Are you testing in Preview mode, or testing published output? If you're testing published output, have you tried clearing your browser cache?

Thanks Alyssa. This is very helpful.
You're welcome, Brian! Good luck on the rest of your project. 🙂
