Have you looked at the small eye icon on the objects in the timeline? That would allow you to hide individual elements on the slide's layers. For more on this, please take a look at this article.
You could also copy them off the base layer, and remove them - to place them only to appear on the slide layers as you mentioned.

It worked, when I deleted them off the base layer and only included them in the slide layers.
