When importing PowerPoint Notes a hard return is inserted into sentence

Mar 19, 2021

When I import a PowerPoint presentation with notes into Storyline, and preview the slide, some of the sentences that include the word 'click' have started to insert a return in the middle of the sentence.  It appears fine when viewing the notes.

I use a blank template and have created numerous courses from this template without this issue.  The only way to fix the problem is delete the space before the word, delete the word (phrase) and the space after.  In the example below, I deleted the space, the Homepage, and the space after.

I have looked at the PowerPoint and do not see any hidden return in the sentence.

 Spacing is set to zero.

Example (Notes): Click the Homepage dropdown button to activate the menu.

When I preview the slide it appears as:

Click

the Homepage dropdown etc.

Hi Christina!

I'm happy to help! It sounds like the text in the Notes section isn't formatted the same way in PowerPoint. I've tested this in Storyline 3 (Build 3.11.233355.0) and Storyline 360 (Build 3.50.24668.0) using the same text you've shared. Unfortunately, I'm not running into any formatting issues, as you've mentioned.

Which version of Storyline are you using? Also, which font are you using in PowerPoint for the Notes section?

If you have a .story file that you'd like us to look at, you can attach it to this discussion or upload it to our team privately using a support case.

I've attached my Storyline 3 test project to this reply.
