When moving cursor from disabled image with hover state, adjacent object hover state won't trigger.

Jan 27, 2020

Hello there,

A while ago I've notcied, then sometimes some of my objects doesn't fire the 'hover' state on the first time. Like - you have to move cursor on it, nothing happens, take it away, move on it again and hover state works normally. Couldn't find any possible reason for some time, but today I've managed to narrow it to one thing.

Like in the title - When moving cursor from disabled image with hover state, adjacent object hover state won't trigger on the first try. You can check the story file, it would be easier to understand. It happens in SL360 and SL3. That's not something you cannot overcome, but requires additional work.

Hi Mateusz!

This is wild! We've logged this issue as a bug where the hover state doesn't activate when first hovering over a disabled object!

I've added your comments and story to our active bug report so that our team has more examples to test. I wish I could offer a timeline, but I'll be sure to report back when we have an update to share!

Thanks for taking the time to bring this to our attention!

Hi Mateusz!

I'm excited to return to this discussion with exciting news! We just released Storyline 360 (Build 3.55.25954.0), which includes the fix for the bug where sometimes a hover state wouldn't appear when there were disabled objects on the same slide, and sometimes text shifted when hovering over an object in a course using the classic player.

To take advantage of the newest release, make sure to update Storyline 360 in your Articulate 360 desktop app!

Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you run into any issues updating or have additional questions. You can reach us in this discussion or by submitting a support case!

Stay well!
