When Program Crashes, Saved Projects Become Corrupt And/Or Unable To Open

My project has crashed 3 times and each time I couldn't retrieve my current saved project. I have made back ups on a thumb drive and cant pull them up either. I've tried opening the project in another computer. I've tried changed my .tmp file to .story. I have tried importing my project and individual slides to a new project. I have also uninstalled the software and reinstalled it. Nothing seems to work. I get it.. I probably cant get my lost days back but why cant I retrieve my work each time the software crashes... I cant make any progress like this know if Storyline crashes all my progress is lost and why can I only retrieve my save date for 14 days ago. Why is that one OK and none of the other ones OK... And now I have a deadline I will not be able to meet.
