Hello, I just want to know when will a new stand alone Version of articulate storyline 3 (?) be released because I don´t want to pay yearly and I don´t need the complete suite articulate 360. Or is it possible to buy storyline 360 and install it like a desktop version and pay a fix amount for unlimit use.

The would-be organisation in terms of licence in my organisation was to have one 360 licence for the only people who frequently use storyline and rise, and Storyline 3 licences for the other people that use stroyline (and only sotryline) but less regulary.
But doing so, we will expose to compatibility issues, if I understand well ?
I imagined that updates of Storyline 3 and Storyline 360 will follow the same path...
On the day that Storyline 3 is released, its features will match those of Storyline 360, with the exception of the subscription elements like Content Library and Articulate Review. So, following along on those Available Now items that you see on our What's New, What's Next page is a great idea.
You'll also want to keep in mind that any additional features added to Storyline 360 after the day Storyline 3 is released will not work in Storyline 3. In other words, once new features are added to Storyline 360, you will not be able to open a Storyline 360 file with Storyline 3.

How does Storyline 3 compare to older versions of Storyline?
If you’re looking to move from an older version of Storyline to Storyline 3, the things you’ll want to check out are:
The new responsive player, which automatically makes your course look great on any phone or tablet
The ability to add and customize closed captions (and soon structure content with tables!)
Storyline 360 is part of Articulate 360, which has everything you need for the entire course authoring process. An annual subscription service, it’ll provide you with continuous feature updates to Storyline (unlike Storyline 3). Articulate 360 includes the latest version of Storyline, our new web-based responsive authoring tool called Rise, plus all of our other authoring tools. It also includes 1.5+ million course assets, such as templates and stock photos, an easy-to-use project review app, and live online training with industry experts.

As Storyline 360 continues to evolve, there will be new features that exist only in Storyline 360. This means you’ll see an error message if you try to open Storyline 360 projects in Storyline 3 that include new features specific to Storyline 360 . In other words…
Can I open a Storyline 360 file that has Storyline 360-specific features in Storyline 3? No, you’ll see an error message. But not to worry, remove those features and then you can open the file in Storyline 3.
Can I open a Storyline 360 file that doesn’t have Storyline 360-specific features in Storyline 3? Yes, this will work!
Can I open a Storyline 3 file in Storyline 360? Yes, this will also work!
My query is the reverse. If I upgrade to SL3, the most economical option at present, can I import the SL3 work into SL360 if I find an employer willing to do annual subscription to Articulate 360?
Agree with others, an SL360-only subscription, without the Rise and other stuff, at a better price, say $300 pa would be best.
Absolutely. Storyline 1, 2 and 3 files can all be opened in Storyline 360. Storyline 360 projects can be opened and edited with Storyline 3 except when they include new features that exist only in Storyline 360. It won't open at all ? Or will the file open but new features of storyline 360 will creat bugs on related slides in sotryline 3 ?
Other question : Is replay linked to 360 or will a newer version of it be associate with Storyline 3 ?

And to your second question, Articulate 360 includes the latest version of Replay 360 here. Storyline 3 is a standalone product and does not include a version of Replay.
