Where can I find info about 'Submit Interaction'?

Jun 18, 2014

Hi, I'm trying to find out my options for communicating with an LMS from Storyline. I'm having a hard time finding a description or tutorial about how the Submit Interaction function works.

Can anyone fill me in about the ins and outs of this promising feature?

Is there a location where this feature is described in depth?

Thanks,

Rob

Hi Rob,

The "submit interaction" trigger that would appear for any of your quiz questions is what allows Storyline to check if it's the correct/incorrect answer and record it as such. There isn't a detailed explanation of this trigger and how it's handled - but reviewing what happens if you don't want it submitted immediately upon the user answering may help offer a frame of reference for you.  In regards to what is sent to your LMS, the quiz data documented here is submitted to an LMS and you'll want to include a results slide that tracks the users results.

Also, if you're just looking to see how Storyline and your LMS are communicating and what data is passed back and forth, you may want to run a version with LMS debug mode enabled to watch the data pass back and forth.
