I'm a new Articulate user and I found some buttons I like, downloaded them, and unzipped them. Where do I put them so that they show up in Insert > Controls > Buttons, please?
Or am I completely misunderstanding how to use downloaded buttons?
I expect to become a fixture around here. I haven't done much authoring in a long time and I'm sure I'll become quite a pest as I get back up to speed. I did my first authoring on a Hazeltine MicroTICCIT in the mid-70s. The last tools I used were Quest, C++, and Authorware and the last time I did serious authoring was about a year before the initial release of Flash came out.
Authoring has certainly gotten a lot easier over the years. You young 'uns have done a good job with it. :D

You cannot add buttons to the toolset. What format are your buttons in?
You cannot add the to the Inset menu. If you want to create custom buttons, add a bitmap (for example he one that represents the Normal state, then add new states and replace the bitmaps. Here is some info on working with states: https://community.articulate.com/series/articulate-storyline-2/articles/adding-and-editing-states-in-articulate-storyline-2
They're .png files. I suspect they are sets of multiple images that work as Michael Hinze described.
Thanks for the help!
Thanks, I'm on it.
Hello Mark!

Thanks for the nice welcome, Emily!
I am mightily impressed with the response time.
