I was able to successfully publish my lesson and got the "congratulations it was successfully published" message. Now, I feel silly asking, where did the file go? Does the published form save over the existing? I notice I have a new folder now on my desktop that is titled "coaching practices in schools output." When in click on it, it contains a bunch or random files, but I do not see the actual module.
The new folder you see contains the published content. The actual .story file doesn't go anywhere, it is still in the location where it was last saved.
Perfect! So it is normal to see a bunch of random files, but then when you go to upload it to a Moodle site (or whatever), the module will appear? I created the module and an AT women is to upload it, so I wanted to make sure I had the appropriate files downloaded in my Dropbox.
If you want to publish and upload a module to an LMS like Moodle, follow the instructions here, zip up the published content and pass this zip package on to your IT/LMS admin person.
