Which size screen do you design for?
Nov 09, 2012
Hi, this is my first post (obviously lol).
I have a very basic question which I can't seem to find answered anywhere, but it seems like an important thing to know..
What size screen should I assume my learners are using? Assuming I'm going to make my slides with images and font to look best at a certain screen size, what size do I pick? And then of course not everyone will have that screen size - some will have a big computer screen, and some might have a little tablet screen - how does that work when you're designing, which size do you design for?

Haha! Not for me either Philippe. I understand :)
This was super helpful because I want the most real estate when creating courses. Thank you!
Hi all,
Can I use 1009px X 662px layout size in SL360 for desktop? Will this resize accordingly in a tablet? I found no issues in Mobile layout. Can someone share your thoughts? Thanks! :)
Hi Tilagawathe,
If you're using Storyline 360 we'll use the responsive player in mobile or tablet devices. You may want to use the Preview function to see how those two devices will look.
Thanks, Ashley. I'll try it out and I'm still playing around with all the features in the SL360. :)
There's a lot there, Tilagawathe! Take your time, and I'd suggest looking through our tutorials and user guides here and bookmark that page. I refer to these daily!
This post is quite old. I'm currently developing SL courses for deployment to computers and mobile devices. What is the recommended size?
Hi Cindy,
Along with all the comments and resources in this discussion, you may also want to take a look at another one I came across. Hope this helps!
