White Hairline Inside Player

Oct 20, 2017

Hi there,

When I preview the player with a dark green colour as required by my company, a white hairline appears on the top and left sides of the slide. I have checked that it's not a problem with the slide background. I can't seem to fix this by changing colours within the player but it is irritating to the eyes so I would like it removed.

Any ideas on what is the cause and solution for this problem?

Thanks!

Hey Emma!

Sorry you're running into that- thanks for sharing the screenshot here. I'm having some serious "Friends" nostalgia happening now 😉

This sounds similar to an issue on our radar for Storyline 360 but I'll need your help to confirm. Can you share your unpublished .story file here so I can take a closer look?

Really appreciate it!

Thanks for sharing your file, Emma! I had a look, and I'm seeing the bug Ali mentioned in your file. Our team is working through this, and we'll keep you posted on any updates we receive.

In the meantime, try adding the background image to the Slide Master, rather than using the Format Background feature.

Then, double-check that Hide background graphics is disabled on the Design tab.

I made those tweaks to your file and attached it here. Have a look, and let me know if that will work for you!

Hi Alyssa,

Thank you for making those tweaks because it does fix the first 2 slides. However, I noticed that slide 3 still shows the white hairline despite the changes you made. Do you have any idea what could be causing this?

I also appreciate you keeping me updated on the Format Background fix. This will be the ideal solution for us given that we have already created many different .story files making use of these backgrounds.
