Why aren't there any more Panels Of Convenience?

Jan 31, 2014

Hi Forum!

Having used Storyline for some week I
find myself really appreciate the slick and

seamless way that storyline handles content

and production of digitalized learning.

My reality though consist of a lot of quite
tedious and repetitive chores such as making
sure that all my thousand objects are at
the exact right position and have the proper

size(s), that all animations have the correct
length, starts when they should yadi-yadi-yada.

You all know what I'm talkin'bout I reccon.

So ... why isn't there some convenient panels
named as for example Objects, Defaults, Animation

and the like?

Maybe this is asking to much but as I look back
on my former tool Captivate I miss a lot of those
easy accessed panels and all the ways to make
transitions, lengths and so on all the same no
matter when or how I liked to create or import them.

Any good suggestions to above listed?

Much appreciation for any response!

Hi Patrick, Storyline's UI is just different from other tools, e.g. Adobe tools. I agree though, having more panels that either float or can be docked may improve useability for some users. I have gotten used to using keyboard shortcut whenever possible and created my own shortcuts with the Quick Access Toolbar, see here for a list: http://community.articulate.com/tutorials/products/keyboard-shortcuts.aspx

Hi Michael,

Thank you kindly for your reply and the URL.

I perhaps wasn't as clear as I'd like in my post.

Apart from those sought after panels I really would

like a higher degree of defaults especially when

inserting new objects, sounds or movie clips.

This could mean time lengths, animations

and the like.

Perhaps there is a way - if not my trusty

CMD+C/CMD+V does some of the tricks.

All the best!
