Why is this happening?

Apr 01, 2013

I have 4 rectangles over a circular arrow image.  In order to get the correct positioning of the arrow in the published slide (A)  I have to offset it by 20 pixels (B).  Storyline shifts the position for some reason.  Does anybody know why this is happening?

(A) browser result

(B) in Storyline

Hi Ray,

That does look a bit off. First thing I would check would be the system DPI.

Storyline doesn't currently support 120 DPI. If your system is set to 120 DPI, you may experience erratic behavior, such as:

*  Elements of the application are misplaced or distorted.

*  Objects are misplaced or distorted when previewed or published.

*  Zoomed images don't work as expected.

*  Font sizes are incorrect after using the translation features.

Here's how you can switch to 96 DPI:

If that doesn't fix the problem, are you able to share the .STORY file here, so I can take a quick look?

Thanks!

Hi Ray,

Thanks for the file! I took a look and I see how the objects are slightly out of place on the slide. The previewed and published versions look good, though.

This doesn't look like a show-stopper, but may be something our technical team may want to see and test. If it's not something we can workaround, we'll probably want to work with our QA department for a solution.

Can you please submit this file in a support case with us? You'll be able to attach the .STORY file on the second page of the following form:

Articulate Support - Submit a Support Case

Please be sure to include a description of your issue. Please also include the URL for this thread in the form. Also, please share the case number with me. You're welcome to do so here, or in a private message. This way I can follow the progress of the case and update this thread.

Thanks very much, Ray!

Christine
