why load time??

Mar 17, 2015

Just trying to understand the differences here so this may be an obvious answer to most but I'm trying to wrap my head around it as a novie.

Why does Storyline and/or competitor programs in the marketplace like adobe captivate have the load time when opening?

Why can't they perform as quickly at loading smoothly as any modern webpage with varying degrees of scripts/graphics/videos running today?

thanks for the explanation!!

Hi John,

Especially with asset heavy slides, Storyline or other programs need to download and load all those elements. The load time may also be associated with your server/LMS, broadband speed, wireless, etc.

To make playback as smooth as possible, your published Articulate Storyline courses will preload content in the following order:

  1. Assets are loaded for the first slide (or the current slide when resuming), so the course can begin playing right away.
  2. Assets are then loaded for the next three slides to prevent playback delays.
  3. Assets are then loaded for the remainder of the course.
