Word Output Unreadable

May 10, 2016

Hi,

I am having problems with the word output of courses rendering very blurry and almost unreadable (in some cases completely unreadable). The smallest font size I use is 12, so I am not using an unreasonably small font size. I am also publishing the slides as 'Large', so this is not the issue either. Considering I have now produced over 15 courses for a client, this is a real issue as we have to provide printable versions with each course.

This seems like an absolutely fundamental issue to me, and I do not understand how it has yet to be addressed. I have seen posts dating back 4 years which have complained about this very issue. Why is this not a priority, and are there any plans to fix this in the near future? Without the ability to publish readable document outputs, the attractiveness of Storyline as software is hugely reduced.

Thank you,

Oli

Hi Oli,

Have you looked at the overall story size of your content? Depending on the slide size you're using it may not be able to scale any larger than you're seeing and still fit on one sheet of paper within a Word file. If you'd like to share the .story file here we're happy to take a look at it and see how it behaves.

Hi Ashley,

We are using a standard slide size of 1280x800. I would love to share a file with you but unfortunately it restricted to internal use. I cannot understand what part of the output process is causing the final render to be so blurry. The only alternative I'm currently seeing it to manually screengrab every single different slide/layer - although that is not a long term solution.
