working before publishing but not after

Nov 23, 2012

hi,

can anyone help with this. I have a practice simulation that involves right-clicking a hotspot to move forward to the next screen. this is working perfectly when I test it. however, when I go to publish the content, while everything else seems to work ok, when I right-click (or perform any other kind of click(, all I get is the hint caption. Why should there be a difference in what happens pre and post publishing?

thank you

Pat

Hi Pat - there should be no difference between the preview and the published output.

Is this just happening on this one slide? And is this the only slide you are using a right click?

Can you attach a picture of the main layer for this slide (Document Search Practice)? - I think your picture just shows the hint layer so it is hard to tell what is going on overall.

The way this is set up is that as soon as you place your mouse on the hotspot, it is going to jump to the hint layer because you have a trigger that says Show Layer Hint Caption when the user hovers the mouse over the hotspot.  So you never get a chance to click on the hotspot before it goes to the hint layer.

On the hint layer there is another trigger that says to show the hint layer when the mouse hovers over ...

So I think what is happening is that you have some kind of endless loop - every time you go to place your mouse over the hotspot it jumps to the hint layer.

I think you should be able to fix this by removing the trigger on the hint layer.
