Works in Storyline 1, Not in Storyline 2
Mar 15, 2016
Hi,
Recently, I have moved some projects and templates I created from St 1 to St 2.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I have found a bug.
Unfortunately, I can't upload my projects because they contain intellectual property.
I have a 'sorry, you can't advance until you have watched all of this' layer that pops up if a learner attempts to click the Next button before the timeline ends. This works perfectly in St 1 but not in St 2. I have checked out all of the settings and I can't figure out what the problem is. This should be very straightforward, right? Nope.
Can somebody from Articulate take a look, please?
Thanks!

Hi Alsion!
In Articulate Storyline 1, restricted and locked navigation settings only affected the menu. In contrast, the navigation settings in Articulate Storyline 2 affect both the menu and the player buttons, making it much easier to control the overall navigation for your course. To learn how to restrict or lock navigation in Storyline 2, see this article.
So you are actually saying that in order for me to get this to work, I must set the menu navigation to 'free'?
Unless it would be better for you to reduce the slide timeline.
If you wish the Next button to work freely at any time, then yes, you would need to change the navigation.
Ok, I changed the navigation and it works now. Interesting that the default setting in ST 1 was free but it is restricted in ST 2?
Yes, users that were used to the SL1 settings find it hard to adjust to. You are welcome to share your thoughts with our product development team here.
