Writing Student Notes And Variables To External File

We're looking to get students' notes out of Storyline 360, making them available to SMEs and trainers.
We've successfully gotten the notes passed to an email, which the student can send, but we have a remote situation with no email access.
This file could be written to a local directory, i.e. C:\temp\studentNotes.txt. That file could be retrieved and made available to recipients.
I see from the forums years ago, SL used to be able to write to a local text file (IE only, using ActiveX). This doesn't seem to work anymore and I'm looking for a browser-agnostic solution.
Using an LMS is not an option.

Hello Mark...I don't know if this is helpful but Zsolt and some of the other power users have good solutions that are out of the box.

Wow, lots of cool stuff there. I don't see what I'm looking for though. I used Zsolt's form to 'pick his brain', so maybe he's got some suggestions. Thanks for the resource!!
