wrong layer showing

Working in storyline 2 where a question on base layer results in correct or incorrect 1st try feedback layer. If gotten wrong, the user is taken to a hint layer and from this slide can click the hotspot for correct feedback or click outside the hotspot for 2nd try feedback layer.

I use the variable wrong try and everytime user clicks outside of hotspot the variable increases by 1. The 2nd try feedbacker layer is triggered when variable changes to 2. But me oh my, only the 1st feedback layer is showing.

Any ideas or hope please?
